it was xmas day.
had initially booked a xmas hotel lunch buffet but cancelled it last min cause parents dun want to have buffet that day.
and on that day, dad just drove around to see what interest them. and it cannot be in town due to road closure in orchard.
drove along upper thomson road and saw ivin nyonya specialities.
well, it wasnt the type of food that i craved for. but parents were interested to try on the dishes.
ordered like 6 dishes, most dishes are spicy.
and i dun really fancy. its really traditional Nyonya food.
but dad kept praising how delicious the food is and insist to come back again soon!
after lunch, we headed out to junction 8 to get some stuffs. dinner was a big headache. we had no idea what to eat too. we didnt make any reservations, and we decided not to walk in any restaurants cause we were sure of the long queues and long waiting time.
bro and i decided to head over to the supermarket to get some groceries and ingredients to cook for the family for dinner.
busy preparing the ingredients
cooking the sauce for our main dish
the dinner.
ok lighting is bad. but presentable ok!!! i can cook!!!
and earlier, on our way back, we got xmas log cake for family too.
that was the supper for our xmas day
it might be a simple fare, but sometimes simple is good.
you avoid the crowd, sick of the restaurant food.
you stay in the cosy side of yours.
why not?
